Three ways to split it

By hours. Every hour is worth the same to everyone. The default, and the easiest for anyone to check.
Weighted. Hours times a role multiplier, so a bartender on 1.25 earns a quarter more per hour from the pot than a server on 1.0.
Evenly. Same amount each. Fine when everyone worked the same shift; unfair the moment hours differ.

The pennies

Real pools produce rates like $23.7183 an hour. Multiply that by 7.25 hours and you get an amount with four decimal places; round each person's share separately and the payouts miss the pot by a few cents in one direction or the other. Someone then has to explain the difference.

TYPTAPP works in whole cents throughout. Everyone gets the whole-cent part of their exact share, then the leftover cents go one at a time to whoever was closest to earning the next one, in a stable order. The distributed total always equals the pool, and the calculator says how many cents it moved so nothing is hidden.
