What TYPTAPP is

A free tool that performs arithmetic on numbers you enter. It is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. Check anything that matters before you act on it — particularly anything you are handing to someone else at the end of a shift.

What TYPTAPP is not

• Payroll software
• Tax software or tax advice
• Legal advice
• Employment-law or wage-compliance software

TYPTAPP does the math. Your workplace is responsible for making sure its tip policies follow applicable laws. Tip pooling and tip-out rules are governed by federal, state and local law and by your employer's own arrangements, and they differ meaningfully by location. Nothing here is a statement that any particular arrangement is permitted. Questions about that belong with your employer, your labour department, or a lawyer.

Any percentage or role weight suggested anywhere on this site is an example of what is commonly seen, not a recommendation and not a standard. All of them are editable, and they should be edited to match your situation.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TYPTAPP is not liable for any loss arising from use of the site, including any figure it produced. If you find a calculation that looks wrong, please tell us — that is a bug and it will be fixed.
