What the weight means

A weight of 1 is a full share for every hour worked. 1.25 is a quarter more per hour; 0.75 is a quarter less. Multiply hours by the weight and you get weighted hours — that is the only number the split actually uses.

Two arguments to have before you set them

Whether a role that never touches a table should share in the pool at all, and whether the weights track responsibility or track how directly the role drives the tip. Both are legitimate positions, and rooms land in different places. What causes trouble is weights nobody can explain.

Publish them, show the weighted hours next to the payout, and revisit them when the room changes. A pool people cannot verify is a pool people will not trust.
